TN Dam Watch shows reservoir water-level, storage, inflow and outflow data for Tamil Nadu (and a few catchment-linked reservoirs in Karnataka and Kerala). The app does not require an account or login, and does not collect any personally identifiable information.

The only data this app itself stores is kept entirely on your device (Android SharedPreferences), never transmitted anywhere:
Clearing the app's storage (Android Settings → Apps → TN Dam Watch → Clear Data) or uninstalling the app removes all of it.
The app fetches public reservoir data from dams.techpuram.in over HTTPS. As with any web request, our hosting provider's servers process standard technical connection data (such as IP address and timestamp) to serve the request and for basic security/operational logging — the same as any website you visit. We do not use this to identify or track individual users.
The reservoir figures shown in this app are collected from the Tamil Nadu Government's Water Resources / Agriculture Department public reservoir data portal:

This portal is public information — freely published by the source for anyone to view, with no login or special access required.
An automated backend process on our own server (dams.techpuram.in) requests this public page on a scheduled cron job approximately every 3 hours, reads the published figures, and stores them in our database. No credentials, private APIs, or unauthorized access are involved — the process only reads the same publicly published page a person could open in a browser.
Real historical reservoir records on the source portal begin February 22, 2021 — dates before that do not have real published data. The app's history/trend/comparison features are built from a one-time historical collection covering February 22, 2021 through the present, kept current afterward by the same 3-hourly automated sync.
This app shows banner ads (Dashboard, Reservoir List, and History screens) via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use data — such as advertising identifiers, general device information, and approximate location inferred from IP address — to serve and measure ads, per Google's own policies. This app does not receive or store that data itself; it flows directly between your device and Google.
The app's backend is hosted on Hostinger. Google AdMob is the only advertising SDK integrated (see Advertising above) — no other ad networks, analytics platforms, or social SDKs are included.
This app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, since no personal information is collected at all.
